Clayton’s Ice Pack Moments

While Shelby and I were watching a movie, Clayton came out of the back bedroom after roughhousing with the fiance and dogs. I noticed his left eye was starting to swell. I asked him what happened.
Clayton:”Heyzeus punched me in the eye.”
Heyzeus punched you?
Clayton: “Yeah. And it hurt.”
(Fiance), did you see his eye?
Fiance: “Yeah…Clayton decided to jump on me so I pinned him. Then Heyzeus stepped on his eye.”
Nice. Dude, you need to go get an ice pack. It looks like you’re going to have a black eye.
Clayton: “OHMIGOD! This is like the fifth time this week that you have told to go get an ice pack. It’s like I better just keep one on me all the time!”
Clayton has had a rough week or so. He was hit in the face with a softball. While he and I were roughhousing, Maggie jumped on the bed, stepping on his neck. But the best one had to be when he decided to fling open the garage screen door as hard as he could, just to have it spring back and slam his ear (yes, his ear) in the door.
I believe he got his coordination from me. Poor kid!

And remember – he ALMOST had one ball removed that one time? Remember??

2 of 4 injuries reported this week are dog caused. This is why we have fish. Zero fish caused or related injuries this week at our house.

Those 2 injuries were due to the kid zigging and the dog zagging while the parents had them riled up. If anything, I blame the parents that should know better. The dogs were just in the mix trying to break things up because that’s what they do. They protect us….well Maggie does. Heyzeus is just nosy and wants to be in on the attention.

I have an accident prone kid too. Maybe a portable ice pack that could get cold quickly is not a bad idea. Poor Clayton.

Two thoughts:
1. Document all these injuries, cause you never know when someone might call DCFS on you …
2. I do too read other people’s blogs. Thpt!

We prefer frozen peas/corn. The bags conform to the shape of the bump or injured limb.
Just remember which frozen veggies are for bumps and which are for eating. Nothing like frozen/thawed/frozen/thawed/frozen/thawed/frozen vegetable for dinner.
Just sayin’.
